Project: Systems Upgrade
Client: Carmen’s Banquet & Conference Centre
Objective: Design an audio and lighting system that will be suitable for a range of functions. Audio system must be able to handle music, speech and playback, and be able to separate into different hall configurations. The lighting system is to add atmosphere and colour into the halls, and offer different programs for various looks and events.
Solution: The sound system comprised of 10 JBL SRX712m speakers. This allowed four speakers in the larger room, and two in the smaller halls. The speakers were processed and matrixes with the DBX Driverack 480, all powered with QSC PLX1602 power amps. Each hall has its own control rack with a small Soundcraft mixer and CD player.
The lighting system is controlled with the Zero88 Fat Frog console. Throughout the hall are 16 Robe 250 spot fixtures, and various sizes of LED pars for up lighting. Depending on the hall set up, the lights are fully programmable and different settings and appearances.
